Despite SDF’s attempt to repress them | Anti-Macron demonstrations spread across Deir ez-Zor

SOHR sources say that demonstrations against the French president continue in the countryside of Deir ez-Zor, against the backdrop of repeated insults of the “Prophet Muhammad” by French president.

SOHR activists have monitored residents of the city of Al-Busayrah, east of Deir ez-Zor, holding a demonstration during which they demanded the departure of French troops from Deir ez-Zor, and burned the pictures of French president Emmanuel Macron and the French flag as well.

SOHR sources say that armored vehicles belonging to the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) stormed, this morning, the demonstration of Al-Shaitat in which hundreds of residents and surrounding villages participated in the town Granij in eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor, protesting the repeated insults of the “Prophet Muhammad” by French President Emmanuel Macron. SDF has fired in the air to disperse the demonstrators, injuring two people, while the demonstrators responded by throwing stones at SDF vehicles.

Observatory eyewitnesses have monitored, this morning, hundreds of Al-Shaitat people and surrounding villages, staging a mass demonstration in the town of Granij in eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor, protesting the repeated insults of the “Prophet Mohammed” by French president Emmanuel Macron. Pictures of Emmanuel Macron were burned during the demonstration, while similar demonstrations took to the streets in the areas of Al-Azba and Mayzila in Deir ez-Zor countryside, demanding the departure of French troops in Deir ez-Zor.

In the same context, the Syrian Observatory has monitored teaching staff and students holding a vigil at Al-Muhadetha school in the city of Al-Busayrah, east of Deir ez-Zor, protesting the insults of the “Prophet Mohammed” by French president Emmanuel Macron. Pictures of Emmanuel Macron were also burned by students.
