Al-Harrak uprising | Residents stage sit-in, protesting indiscriminate arrests

Daraa Province – Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: SOHR sources have confirmed that the residents of Al-Harrak city in the eastern countryside of Daraa started a general sit-in in the city. All shops have been closed, except vital ones, protesting the Syrian regime’s policy of arbitrary and indiscriminate arrests.

 

A few hours ago, Observatory sources reported that some residents in Al-Harrak city in the east of Daraa burnt down posters of the head of the Syrian regime “Bashar al-Assad”, blocked the main roads and set fire on rubber tires, expressing their anger following the arrest of two civilians from the city by regime security services in the capital, Damascus.

 

Reliable sources had informed the Syrian Observatory that gunmen from the city of Al-Harrak in the eastern countryside of Daraa stormed a checkpoint belonging to regime forces, holding regime soldiers stationed there with the officer in charge of the checkpoint, in response to the arrest of two civilians from the city by regime security services in Damascus for unknown reasons, one of whom returned recently from Kuwait to Syria.
