Disregarding orders of SDF Commander-in-Chief “Mazloum Abdi” | “Al-Shabiba Al-Thawriyah” continues kidnapping and recruiting children, amid widespread popular discontent

Widespread popular discontent continues in areas held by the Self-Administration and SDF in northern and north-eastern Syria, due to the ongoing recruitment of children by the so-called “Al-Shabiba Al-Thawriyah” which turns them into soldiers at a time where these children are supposed to be at home alongside their parents having a normal childhood and enjoying their most basic rights such as education.

However, “Al-Shabiba Al-Thawriyah” the (Revolutionary Youth) continues these recruitment operations despite all the calls to stop kidnapping children and bring the kidnapped children back to their families. Even the orders of the SDF Commander-in-Chief, “Mazloum Abdi”, have not been heeded, something which has contributed to the growing discontent and anger against the Self-Administration and SDF due to their inability to put an end to this military structure and practices that destroy childhood.

The Syrian Observatory had monitored a new kidnapping of a 16-year-old girl, known by her initials as (F.D.), from the area of Ain al-Arab (Kobane). The girl was kidnapped and recruited into the ranks of “Al-Shabiba Al-Thawriyah”, amid calls by her family for her to be brought back, a thing which is echoed by the of parents of the kidnapped children. Meanwhile, parents continue to call on the Syrian Observatory to exert more pressure on the relevant parties to secure the release their children.

In this context, very reliable sources had informed the Syrian Observatory that “Al-Shabiba Al-Thawriyah” kidnapped a girl known by her initials as (R.A.) from Al-Darbasiyyah city in rural Al-Hasakah, and took her later to “Al-Haykal Al-Askary” camps. It is worth noting that the girl was born in 2004 (only 16 years old), while her family refuse the recruitment of their daughter for fear of her life, calling for bringing her back immediately.
