Military escalations | 15 regime soldiers and loyalists killed in rebel attacks on positions in Idlib, Hama, Aleppo and Latakia
Syrian Observatory activists have documented the death of three regime soldiers on the frontline of Hass town nearby Kafr Nubl in Idlib countryside, after being attacked by opposition factions.
Accordingly, the total number of fatalities among regime forces and loyal militias as a result of shelling and attacks since last night has increased to 15, and the fatalities could be categorised according to areas as follows:
- Idlib: six fatalities (three in Saraqeb and three in Kafr Nubl).
- Latakia mountains: four fatalities.
- Hama countryside: three fatalities.
- Aleppo: two fatalities.
On the other hand, a rebel was killed today in regime shelling on frontlines of Saraqeb city.
Observatory sources had reported that several frontlines in Kafr Halab, Basartun in the western countryside of Aleppo, Fulayfel, Al-Dar Al-Kabera in Idlib countryside, Sahl Al-Ghab, and Latakia countryside in the “de-escalation zone” experienced sporadic clashes between regime forces and loyal militias on one hand, and rebel and Islamic factions on the other.
These clashes coincided with exchange of shelling on these frontlines, where opposition factions managed to destroy headquarters and ammunition depot affiliated to regime forces in Ain Al-Qantarah frontline in Latakia countryside. The factions also shelled a regime position on Basartun frontlines in the western countryside of Aleppo, leaving many soldiers dead and wounded.
This escalation came in response to yesterday’s massacre committed by Russian jets which struck a camp of al-Sham Corps, north-west of Idlib.
A few hours ago, SOHR sources reported that the opposition factions continued shelling, with rockets and artillery, regime positions in Hazarin, Al-Malaja, Shansharah, Marraat Al-Nu’man, Al-Hamediyyah, Maarshorin, Jbala, Hassanah, Maarmater, Tal Mannas, Tramla, Al-Dar Al-Kabera, Kafr Nubl, Hantoutin, Ma’sraan, Saraqeb, Khan Al-Sabil, Dadikh, Jubas, Kafr Batikh, Maar Debseh, Al-Jaradah, in the souterh and eastern countryside of Idlib, Al-Hakourah, Tanjarah, Jurin, Kawkabah in the western countryside of Hama, Al-Marij, Salma, Shallaq, Tal Abu As’ad, Ain Al-Qantarah in Latakia mountains, the 46th Regiment, Basartoun, Kafr Halab and Miznanz in the western countryside of Aleppo.
