Southern Idlib countryside | Regime forces and rebels exchange fire

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights has monitored this morning a new round of rocket attacks by regime forces, targeting areas in the towns and villages of Jabal al-Zawiya in the southern countryside of Idlib.

On the other hand, rebels and HTS have renewed artillery shelling on positions of the regime forces on frontlines in the southern countryside of Idlib, but no casualties have been reported so far.

Yesterday, a man and a woman were killed, while three others were injured, including a child, in regime artillery fire on Tadel town in the western countryside of Aleppo.

Meanwhile, SOHR sources said that regime forces shelled with artillery Areha city, Al-Bara, Balyoun and Kafr Oweid in Idlib countryside.

Opposition factions have targeted, with rockets and artillery shells, regime positions in over 40 sites in the countryside of Aleppo, Idlib, Latakia and Hama since last night.

SOHR activists had documented human losses among regime forces and loyal militias in this intensive bombardment, as the total number of fatalities as a result of shelling and attacks since last night reached 15, and the fatalities could be categorised according to areas as follows:

  • Idlib: six fatalities (three in Saraqeb and three in Kafr Nubl).
  • Latakia mountains: four fatalities.
  • Hama countryside: three fatalities.
  • Aleppo: two fatalities.

Moreover, a rebel was killed yesterday in regime shelling on frontlines of Saraqeb city.
