Wildfires | Russian Ilyushin aircraft participate in extinguishing new fires in al-Shara mountains between administrative borders of Latakia and Hama provinces

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored new fires devouring large areas of the al-Sharaa mountains located between the administrative borders of Latakia and Hama provinces yesterday. Fire crews were able to extinguish the fires with the participation of Russian “Ilyushin” aircraft, after large areas of trees and forests were burned.

The Syrian Observatory has monitored the outbreak of new fires in areas of agricultural land and forests belonging to villages and areas of al-Qalatiya, Khirbet al-Hammam, Al-Battar and Nassera in the western countryside of Homs.

On October 24, Syrian Observatory activists monitored the outbreak of new blazes in some orchards and bushes in Safita, Isqaboli of Sheikh Saad area, Al-Juraynat, Al-Sawda, Tallat Al-Shamamees and Jabal Beit Sammaq of Bahanin town in the countryside of Tartus province. SOHR activists also reported four fires at Al-Aaydiyyah junctions in Jableh countryside.
