Defection | Seven Turkish-backed militiamen flee to SDF-held areas in rural Al-Hasakah, ten days after defection of another group

SOHR sources have reported that seven members of Turkei-backed factions managed to flee to SDF-controlled areas in Abu Rasin area (Zarkan) in Al-Hasakah countryside.

 

According to SOHR sources, Turkish forces have suspended their salaries and kept asking them to join the fight in Azerbaijan.

 

This development comes over ten days after the defection of another group in the same area.

 

On October 21, SOHR sources said that a group of eight fighters split from Turkish-backed factions and headed towards the SDF-held areas near Al-Assadiya village.

 

In the meantime, Turkish forces and proxy factions shelled several positions in the villages of Al-Assadiya and Khadrawi near the frontlines with SDF, while SDF attacked al-Sheikh station in areas under the control of Turkish-backed factions.
