Floods | Heavy rain devastates refugee camp near border with Turkey, north of Aleppo
Aleppo Province- Syrian Observatory for Human Rights:
SOHR sources say torrential rains have washed away the tents of displaced people in the town of Shamarin near Bab al-Salama border crossing with Turkey in northern Aleppo, while rescue teams intervened to shelter displaced people who have lost their tents, and opened trenches to keep the floods away from the camps which caused by heavy rains.
The camps in all areas of Syria with all various dominant forces are witnessing a significant deterioration in services and a humanitarian tragedy suffered by civilians, who were forced to flee their area due to military operations.
The camp inhabitants faces major challenges and problems, including a lack of care, coinciding with the spread of the coronavirus pandemic, the garbage nearby, the scarcity of humanitarian assistance under these difficult conditions, as well as the exploitation of their children to fight as mercenaries under Turkish supervision.
