Darra | New assassination on leader of settled-status factions in Al-Laja area

Daraa Governorate – Syrian Observatory for Human Rights:

SOHR sources say that unidentified gunmen assassinated a person from Al-Laja, by shooting him on Daraa- Damascus highway between the towns of Tibna and Mhajja. The victim was a commander of a military group among the local factions in the area of Al-Laja, and later he struck a reconciliation deal after the Syrian regime took control of the area.

This brings the number of attacks and assassination attempts in various forms and methods by detonating IEDs, landmines, booby-trapped vehicles and shootings from last June to date, to more than 758 attacks.

While the number of those who killed and died in the same period has risen to 498 persons, 138 of whom are civilians, including 12 women and 15 children, in addition to 218 regime soldiers, loyalists and collaborators with regime security services.

94 members of opposition factions were also killed, those who made “settlements and reconciliations” with the regime and became members of regime security services, including former leaders, and 23 members of Syrian militias affiliated to Lebanese “Hezbollah” and Iranian forces, in addition to 22 members of so-called “Fifth Corps”.
