After paying levies of 60 million SYP | SDF prevents displaced people and shepherd from entering its areas, and regime checkpoints prevent them from returning to Manbij

SOHR sources say that a displaced shepherd with 500 sheep, and a number of people from the city of Albu Kamal living in areas controlled by the Syrian regime in Homs countryside entered the city of Manbij, which is under the control of the Manbij Military Council in the eastern Aleppo countryside, in order to reach SDF-held areas. The shepherd and people are reported to have paid 60 million Syrian pounds as a levy to regime soldiers and members of the Manbij Military Council to allow them to enter SDF-held areas in Raqqa countryside.

According to Syrian Observatory sources, SDF members stationed at the Al-Tayha crossing, southwest of Manbij, which separates the regime-held areas and the Manbij Military Council, refused to let the shepherd and the people enter, despite the presence of a guarantor, allowing only four people to enter its areas with the guarantor for only 10 days.

Moreover, SDF members threatened to arrest the people and the guarantor if they exceeded the period allowed in the SDF-held areas. While regime forces prevented the shepherd and the people from returning to their areas, leaving them stranded between the two checkpoints despite paying a financial levy to the members of the two checkpoints.
