Arrested over three years ago | “Tahrir al-Sham” executes displaced young man from northern countryside of Homs for “murder”

SOHR sources have monitored the execution of a young man from the area of Tal Daw in northern countryside of Homs by HTS, for “killing a person”, after his arrest for more than three years.

According to Syrian Observatory sources, the young man was previously detained in the same case by Ahrar al-Sham in the area of Tal Daw. After the displacement from the northern countryside of Homs to Idlib, the case moved to HTS and the young man remained detained for three years, before his relatives were told two days ago that he was executed by firing squad.

On September 16, SOHR activists said that HTS executed, on Monday September 14, a young man from the town of Qastoun in Sahl Al-Ghab by firing squad, after he was found guilty of being part of a robbery gang and banditry acts and confessions of his involvement in the murder of a money changer in rural Jisr al-Shughour city earlier, in addition to some robberies in the area.

According to local sources, HTS confiscated from his family a quantity of gold in addition to an estimated $25,000.
