Second operation in four days | SDF sneak to Turkish-backed factions’ positions in Abu Rasin, killing and injuring 12

Seven Turkish-backed militiamen were killed and five others were injured in an infiltration operation this afternoon by SDF special forces in Tal Sha’eer area in Abu Rasin countryside in rural Al-Hasakah, in “Peace Spring” areas. SDF withdrew from the area just after they had blown up military positions affiliated to the Turkish-backed factions.

Meanwhile, Turkish-backed factions shelled the villages Aniq Al-Hawa and Mohammed Sheikhu and other positions near the frontlines there, which caused material damage and resulted in displacement of residents to neighbouring areas, but no casualties have been reported so far.

SOHR activists have monitored cautious calm a few hours after the infiltration operation, shelling and clashes on the frontlines of Abu Rasin, while all military powers there were seen on high alert.

These developments come four days after another infiltration attempt, on November 9, by SDF special forces into positions of Turkish forces and their proxies in Al-Dayri farm in Abu Rasin countryside.

Yesterday, Syrian Observatory sources revealed new information about the operation carried out by special forces of Syria Democratic Forces, two days earlier in Abu Rasin countryside (Zarkan). The death toll among the Ankara-backed factions rose to 15 militiamen killed in shelling and infiltration operation by SDF, as SDF managed to blow up the headquarters where a meeting comprised Turkish-backed factions in Al-Dayri farm in Abu Rasin countryside, while the infiltrated units managed to capture three other militiamen.

According to SOHR sources, SDF had pictures of two Turkish soldiers killed during the operation. Observatory sources added that Russian forces expressed their discontent with the SDF operation during a call with SDF leadership, as there has been an agreement between the two parties conditioned the suspension of such attacks.
