Security chaos in Daraa | Air-Force Intelligence checkpoint targets civilian in al-Karak city

Daraa Governorate – Syrian Observatory for Human Rights:

SOHR activists say that a resident from Daraa countryside was injured today, after being shot directly by members of the checkpoint of Air-Force Intelligence branch, as he drove through the western neighbourhood of al-Karak al-Sharqi, east of Daraa.

On the other hand, regime forces brought in military reinforcement to the 53rd Brigade and their positions at the Garage checkpoint and the western al-Maliha road, preparing to enter the city of Al-Harak in search of wanted persons.

This brings the number of attacks and assassination attempts in various forms and methods by detonating IEDs, landmines, booby-trapped vehicles and shootings from last June to date, to more than 765 attacks.

While the number of those who killed and died in the same period has risen to 503 persons, 138 of whom are civilians, including 12 women and 15 children, in addition to 220 regime soldiers, loyalists and collaborators with regime security services.

98 members of opposition factions were also killed, those who made “settlements and reconciliations” with the regime and became members of regime security services, including former leaders, and 23 members of Syrian militias affiliated to Lebanese “Hezbollah” and Iranian forces, in addition to 24 members of so-called “Fifth Corps”.
