Turkish-backed factions’ repression | Displaced people arrested in Afrin for “dealing with PKK and PYD”

Aleppo Province – Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: As Turkish-backed factions continue their violations against indigenous residents and displaced people in Afrin city and countryside in north-western Aleppo, reliable SOHR sources have confirmed that the Turkish-backed “Ahrar Al-Sharqiyyah” and “Jaysh Al-Sharqiyyah” continue clamping down on displaced people from eastern Ghouta living in the Turkish-controlled city of Afrin.

The two Turkish-backed factions have informed, via individuals close to the factions, several inhabitants of houses in Afrin city to evacuate these houses, and threatened to arrest them for “dealing with the houses’ owners who belong to PKK and PYD”.

According to SOHR sources, “Ahrar Al-Sharqiyyah” and “Jaysh Al-Sharqiyyah” have arrested three displaced people from eastern Ghouta living in Afrin city since early November. The factions took these people to unknown destination where they were given the choice to be imprisoned for “dealing with PKK and PYD” or to sign documents according which they had to evacuate these houses in no more than ten days.
