Airstrikes | 15 Iranian-backed militiamen of non-Syrian nationalities killed in shelling on their positions in Al-Bukamal countryside

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights has documented several fatalities following yesterday’s airstrikes by aircraft, believed to be Israeli, on the positions of pro-Iranian militias in al-Bukamal countryside east of Deir ez-Zor.

Some 14 pro-Iranian militiamen of Afghan and Iraqi nationalities were killed in the shelling, which targeted new positions affiliated with these militias. Two positions and vehicles were also destroyed in the attack.

The death toll is expected to rise, as some injured are in serious condition, amid reports of further fatalities.

Yesterday evening, SOHR activists reported loud explosions in rural Albu Kamal town in rural Deir ez-Zor, as a result of airstrikes by an unknown aircraft, targeting Iranian militias’ positions with more than ten raids west of Albu Kamal. No human or material losses were reported at that point.

On November 14, Syrian Observatory activists monitored several airstrikes by unidentified jets on Muhassan desert which is under the control of regime forces and Iranian-backed militias. Plumes of smoke were seen in the targeted site.
