Regime crackdown | Security services arrest number of young people in eastern Ghouta and southern Damascus

Reliable SOHR sources have confirmed that regime security services carried out a raid on a number of houses of residents in the areas of Babbila and Beit Saham south of the capital Damascus, arresting eight young men and took them to their security branches, for unknown reasons to date.

Similiarly, regime security services carried out, this morning, a raid targeting a number of houses in the town of Kafr Batna in eastern Ghouta. According to Syrian Observatory sources, the security services arrested three people from the residents of the neighbourhood of Al-Karam in Kafr Batna, without knowing the reasons.

On the other hand, regime forces have set up two new checkpoints this morning in the city of Harasta, one at the road between Harasta and the town of Madyara, and the other at the “Al-Sayeda Aisha” mosque in the city.

On October 9, reliable sources told SOHR that military patrol of the regime’s “Air-Forces Intelligence” and “military security” services launched a security campaign in Sarghaya town on the Syria-Lebanon border in north-western Rif Dimashq. The security services arrested nearly 15 young people during the campaign for unknown reasons.

It is worth noting that armed groups are noticeably active in Sarghaya town, where they work in trafficking goods from Lebanon to Syria, in addition to human smuggling from Syria to Lebanon.
