Attempts to limit infiltrations and defections | Turkish-backed factions boost guarding posts and points in rural Al-Hasakah

Syrian Observatory activists have monitored Turkish-backed factions bringing in military reinforcement, including personnel with light arms, to Al-Hasakah countryside in order to boost their guarding points along the frontlines with SDF in the area from Abu Rasin to Tal Tamr.

This development comes with the aim to limit the infiltration operations by SDF in “Peace Spring” areas and the defections among the Turkish-backed factions.

On October 31, SOHR sources reported that seven members of Turkish-backed factions managed to flee to SDF-controlled areas in Abu Rasin (Zarkan) in Al-Hasakah countryside.

This development comes over ten days after the defection of another group in the same area, since a group of eight fighters split from Turkish-backed factions and headed towards the SDF-held areas near Al-Assadiya village.

It is worth noting that SDF carried out several infiltration operations against Turkish-backed factions in Al-Hasakah countryside in October, which left tens of casualties among the factions.
