Coronavirus in regime-held areas | Confirmed cases exceed 70,000, while nearly 3,650 die so far

As the Syrian Observatory continue monitoring and tracking coronavirus outbreaks across Syrian provinces which is under the control of the Syrian regime, SOHR activists have documented nearly 5,400 new Covid-19 cases in the past few days, while 225 other cases died of the virus in the same period.

 

Meanwhile, most of the infection cases and deaths are still documented in the provinces of Latakia, Aleppo, Damascus and Rif Dimashq, amid disastrous medical situation. Moreover, regime authorities continue misinformation and keeping the real number of deaths and infection cases with coronavirus secret.

 

According to SOHR latest statistics, based on reports obtained from reliable medical sources in regime-controlled areas, the total number of confirmed Covid-19 cases has reached nearly 70,350, of whom 22,000  recovered, and 3,650 died. The cases are distributed across all Syrian provinces. However, most of the deaths and infections have been in Latakia, Aleppo, Damascus and Rif Dimashq.
