Turkish-backed factions violations | “Al-Hamza Division” storms village in rural Ras Al-Ain (Sere Kaniye) with the aim to seize farmlands

Al-Hasakah Province – Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: The Turkish-backed Al-Hamza Division has stormed Tal Ziyab village in rural Ras Al-Ain (Sere Kaniye) in “Peace Spring” areas in Al-Hasakah countryside. According to SOHR sources, a disagreement took place between residents and members of Al-Hamza Division over the seizure of farmlands belonging to the residents by the Turkish-backed division’s militiamen.

On November 26, SOHR sources reported that rivalries continued among Turkish-backed factions in Ras Al-Ain in Al-Hasakah countryside over revenue-sharing and looting of properties belonging to displaced people, as SOHR activists monitored tension prevailing in Safah village in western Ras Al-Ain among the members of “Al-Hamza Division” operating in “Peace Spring” areas.

This state of tension followed a meeting attended by the Turkish-backed division’s members in order to distribute and share in plots of land belonging to people who had been displaced from Ras Al-Ain. However, the meeting was fruitless, since the members were not satisfied with their share.

Separately, the Turkish-backed military police arrested eight people who stayed away Ras Al-Ain city for awhile. According to local sources, the arrested people were accused of “being involved in the explosions took place in the region”, as military police arrest every person confirmed to be out of the city.
