Turkish military in NW Syria | Troops deploy on M4 highway and new column enters “de-escalation zone”

Syrian Observatory activists have reported seeing a new Turkish column of nearly 20 vehicles carrying military and logistical supplies crossing into the Syrian territory in the early hours of Thursday morning, via Kafr Lusin border crossing in northern Idlib. The vehicles headed to the Turkish military posts in Jabal Al-Zawiyah in southern Idlib.

On the other hand, Observatory activists have monitored Turkish troops deployed along Aleppo-Latakia international highway (M4) with the aim to comb it.

As Turkey keeps sending more military reinforcement to NW Syria, the number of Turkish military units which have entered the “de-escalation zone” since the new ceasefire came into effect has risen to 7,545, in addition to the entry of hundreds of soldiers.

From February 2 to date, SOHR activists have monitored the entry of more than 10,880 trucks and military vehicles to the “de-escalation zone”, including tanks, personnel carriers, armoured vehicles, mobile bullet proof guard booths and military radars.
