“De-escalation zone” | Rebels and regime forces exchange fire south of Idlib, and regime forces shell Jabal al-Zawiya and Sahl al-Ghab

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights has monitored, this morning, an exchange of heavy machine guns between regime forces and loyalists on the one hand, and opposition factions on the other, on frontlines of al-Fatira and Fleifel in southern countryside of Idlib.

Meanwhile, regime forces shelled this morning places in Safohen, Kansafra, Kafr Aweid, Al-Halouba, Benin and Fulaifel in the same countryside, and other places in Al-Ankawi in Sahl al-Ghab in the north-western countryside of Hama.

Yesterday, reliable sources told SOHR that regime forces brought in large military reinforcement to positions in Sahl Al-Ghab in the north-western countryside of Hama. Military vehicles carrying large military and logistical supplies and soldier were seen arriving in Al-Amaqiyyah and Tanjarah in Sahl Al-Ghab.

SOHR sources reported earlier that regime forces started a new round of ground bombardment since the early hours of Saturday morning, targeting positions in Kansafra, Al-Bara, Al-Fterah, Sfuhen, Fulayfel and Bayanin in Jabal Al-Zawiyah in the southern countryside of Idlib. Meanwhile, regime forces and opposition factions traded fire on frontlines of Sheikh Salman area in the western countryside of Aleppo. Moreover, regime forces targeted positions on Al-Ankawi frontlines in the north-western countryside of Hama with heavy machineguns.
