Deir Ezzor Province – Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: SOHR activists have monitored demonstrations in the SDF-controlled town of Al-Kasra in Deir Ezzor countryside, protesting the corruption of civil councils and dominance of the Kurdistan Workers Party’s stuff on SDF installations in rural Deir Ezzor. The demonstrators have expressed their anger by blocking the city’s streets and setting fire in rubber tires.

On December 5, SOHR activists monitored tens of residents demonstrating in Abu Hamam town in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor, condemning the corruption, dominance of the civil councils and the lack of gasoline used for heating.

According to SOHR sources, the demonstrators accused the “Autonomous Administration” in northern and north-eastern Syria of “not providing any services, looting the support provided by international organizations operating in the area and taking credit for these organizations’ efforts and aid”. The demonstrators threatened to escalate protests, if their demands were not fulfilled.
