Protesting faction leadership’s authoritarian policy | Five brigades in Ahrar Al-Sharqiya suspend their operations, calling on Turks to intervene

Five brigades operating within the “Ahrar Al-Sharqiya” faction have suspended their operations in protest against the faction’s leadership policy, through a joint statement of which SOHR has obtained a copy, which reads:

“Based on the recent events in the ranks of the Ahrar Al-Sharqiya of the authoritarian policy pursued by the faction’s leadership of individual opinion and decision, the marginalization of influential leaders and brigades and the failure to meet the legitimate requirements that we have mentioned to the leadership of the faction, and met with categorical rejection. Therefore, we declare:

1- Suspend our operations within Ahrar Al-Sharqiya until all our legitimate demands are implemented.

2- We call on the Turkish brothers and the leaders of the National Army to intervene to resolve the dispute and to work not to compromise the revolutionary formations that sacificed hundreds of martyrs and wounded to liberate the territories from terrorist organizations and they are still sacrificing.”

It is worth nothing that the brigades that issued the statement are: “Sunni Hawks Brigade, al-Qadisiyah Brigade, Al-Khattab Brigade, Ahl Al-Athar Brigade and Abu Qadri group.”
