“De-escalation zone” | Regime forces and rebels trade fire on frontlines of southern Idlib

Syrian Observatory activists have documented the death of a regime soldier and injury of another one, after being shot by members of opposition factions on Al-Ruwayha frontline in southern Idlib.

On the other hand, SOHR sources monitored exchange of fire with artillery shells and mortars between regime forces and loyalists on one hand, and opposition factions and “Al-Fateh Al-Mubin” operations room on the other, on the frontlines of Jabal Al-Zawiyah. In this context, regime forces shelled Sfuhen, Al-Faterah and Fulayfel, while the factions targeted regime positions in rural Idlib.

The exchange of bombardment between regime forces and rebels coincided with clashes with heavy machineguns on frontlines of Al-Bara town and Al-Faterah village in southern Idlib.

SOHR sources reported a few hours ago an attack by unidentified drone, but believed to be affiliated to Iranian militias, on a military post in Tal Sfuhen in Jabal al-Zawiya in southern Idlib countryside.

Observatory activists had monitored rocket attacks by regime forces on several villages in the southern countryside of Idlib and Sahl al-Ghab in north-west of Hama.

On the other hand, Observatory activists documented the death of a rebel affected by his wounds sustained in the battles of Jabal Al-Turkman nearly two months earlier.
