“De-escalation zone” | Clashes renew between regime forces and opposition factions in eastern Idlib, leaving casualties

Syrian Observatory activists have monitored violent clashes in the early hours of Sunday between opposition factions and jihadi groups on one hand, and regime forces and loyal militias on the other, on Al-Nayrab frontlines in the eastern countryside of Idlib.

These clashes come after shelling by regime forces on positions of the factions, along with exchange of fire and attacks between both parties, which left casualties on both sides.

On the other hand, regime forces shelled, this dawn, positions in Sallour, Qarrat Omar, Shmayr Tahtani in the northern countryside of Latakia, the surrounding areas of Al-Bara, Kansafra and Bayanin in the southern countryside of Idlib. No casualties have been reported.

Yesterday, SOHR activists documented the death of a regime soldier and injury of others in the explosion of a landmine planted by rebels on the frontlines of Miznaz in the western countryside of Aleppo. Also, Russian jets executed two airstrikes on Kabana frontlines in the northern countryside of Latakia, but no casualties were reported. The Russian airstrikes coincided with the flight of Russian reconnaissance drones over Jabal al-Zawiyah, south of Idlib.
