YPG shares in repelling an attack on the city of al- Hasakah, and more than 30 fighters killed in the clashes

 

Violent clashes took place between YPG and IS in southwest of the city of al- Hasakah, coincided with violent and mutual shelling between the two sides. The clashes resulted in the death of at least 23 IS militants while others were wounded. Meanwhile, 11 fighters of YPG died while others were wounded during repelling the attack on the city of al- Hasakah. Other clashes between the same parties continued on the southern western outskirts of the city of Ras al- Ayn (Sari Kanyeh) where YPG could seize 2 village at least and some farms near the administrative boundaries with al- Raqqa. The clashes resulted in the death of 4 IS militants at least, the bodies dragged by YPG.

 

The regime forces shelled IS positions in south of the city of al- Hasakah with no information about casualties.

 

The regime forces have brought reinforcement to the city of al- Hasakah to support the battlefronts in south of the city which has been attacked by IS militants since May 30, where IS could advance and seize al- Ahdath Prison, the electricity company, the village of al- Dawodeyyi and other areas in south of the city. The clashes accompanied by committing 11 suicide bombs by IS militants when they blew themselves up in booby- trapped vehicles in al- Ahdath Prison, the electricity company and near the regime checkpoints in south and southeast of the city of al- Hasakah. The clashes resulted in the death of at least 71 members of the regime forces and allied militiamen, including a leading figure in al- Baath battalions in al- Hasakah, as well as 48 IS militants. SOHR also documented the death of at least 43 IS militants with their families due to targeting a market in the city of al- Shaddadi by 4 rockets in late May, while 3 other civilians killed due to fall of shells on the city.
