After the arrest of a commander | Al-Jabha Al-Shamiya puts on high alert, bringing in reinforcement to Aleppo countryside

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights has monitored a state of military alert and arrests of members of Turkish-backed factions in the city of Al-Bab, east of Aleppo.

According to Syrian Observatory sources, members of al-Hamza Division and the police arrested a leader of Al-Jabha Al-Shamiya and assaulted him in front of his family. Al-Jabha Al-Shamiya reacted to the incident arresting a number of members of al-Hamza Division, coinciding with the entry of military reinforcement of al-Hamza Division from the towns of Bazza’a and Qabasin, north of Aleppo.

SOHR activists have monitored tense calm prevailing in Jendires district in Afrin countryside in north-western Aleppo, after military police and other factions of the Turkish-backed “National Army” had intervened to put an end to the violent clashes between gunmen from Rif Dimashq and Nour al-Din al-Zenki Movement.

The fierce clashes, during which the two sides used heavy machineguns and rocket-propelled grenades, resulted in the death of a member of “Ahrar Al-Sham” faction from eastern Ghouta, as several members of “Ahrar Al-Sham” faction from eastern Ghouta engaged in the fight in support to the civilians against Nour al-Din al-Zenki Movement. The clashes also left nearly 11 persons injured, some seriously, including combatants on both sides. Moreover, the indiscriminate gunfire which hit civilian houses, shops and cars caused material damage.

According to SOHR sources, the factions of the Turkish-backed “National Army” have imposed curfew in Jendires district over the growing tension. Meanwhile, representatives of Nour al-Din al-Zenki Movement have met with fighters from Rif Dimashq in “Al-Sham Corps” headquarters in Jendires district in an attempt by the “National Army” factions and military police to defuse the dispute.

A few hours ago, SOHR activists documented the death of a person and injury of eight others, including civilians and military personnel, as a result of these clashes.
