Deir ez-Zor | “Self-Defense” member injured in attack on checkpoint in Al-Shuhayl town near the Euphrates River

Deir ez-Zor governorate – Syrian Observatory for Human Rights:

SOHR sources say that unknown assailants targeted a “Self-Defense” checkpoint in the town of Al-Shuhayl near the Euphrates River, injuring one of the post’s members, while the SDF brought in military reinforcement to the site.

Reliable source have informed SOHR that Syria Democratic Forces, backed by International Coalition helicopters, stormed several houses in Al-Shuhayl town in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor. The security forces arrested three people run a river crossing used for smuggling goods between SDF-controlled areas and regime-held areas via the Euphrates river in Al-Shuhayl town.

According to SOHR sources, the arrested individuals included a former official in the “Self-Defence Forces” who abandoned his job and opened the crossing with the aim to smuggle goods between the river’s two banks.
