Security chaos in Daraa | Detonating IED near military barracks, and IED explodes in Jassim city
Daraa Governorate – Syrian Observatory for Human Rights:
SOHR activists have reported an explosion in Jassim city in northern countryside of Daraa, caused by an IED explosion thrown by unknown assailants in front of a mosque in the city, without causing material damage or human losses.
As security chaos continues throughout Daraa governorate, an IED planted by unknown assailants exploded near a checkpoint belonging to the “52nd Brigade” on the Al-Miliha-Al-Gharbia-Rakham road, causing material damage, but no casualties have been reported.
Meanwhile, regime forces stationed at al-Karak al-Sharqi checkpoint, targeted indiscriminately with heavy machine guns the plains around the checkpoint, but no casualties have been reported so far.
This brings the number of attacks and assassination attempts in various forms and methods by detonating IEDs, landmines, booby-trapped vehicles and shootings from last June to date, to more than 799 attacks.
While the number of those who killed and died in the same period has risen to 523 persons, 147 of whom are civilians, including 12 women and 16 children, in addition to 230 regime soldiers, loyalists and collaborators with regime security services.
102 members of opposition factions were also killed, those who made “settlements and reconciliations” with the regime and became members of regime security services, including former leaders, and 23 members of Syrian militias affiliated to Lebanese “Hezbollah” and Iranian forces, in addition to 24 members of so-called “Fifth Corps”.
