Backed by intensive Turkish artillery fire | Turkish-backed factions launch violent attacks on east Ain Issa frontlines

Al-Raqqah Province – Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: SOHR activists have reported a violent attack by Turkish-backed factions, backed by intensive Turkish artillery fire, on Jahbal and Mushayrifah villages in the eastern countryside of Ain Issa in northern Al-Raqqah. Moreover, fierce clashes are still underway between the factions and SDF since the early hours of Friday morning, amid intensive bombardment and confirmed reports of human losses. Meanwhile, the faction are not able to capture the two villages so far due to the SDF tenacious resistance.

It is worth noting that these clashes occur in full view of the Russian forces which seem indifferent.

On the other hand, a landmine has exploded in a booby-trapped house in Jahbal village, while uncertainty surrounds the fate of two persons of the same family living there.

Yesterday, Observatory activists monitored Turkish forces and their proxy factions, bringing in military reinforcement to the villages of Abu Kharza, Salloum and Rummana, opposite Al-Hushan and Al-Khalidiya villages, adjacent to the Aleppo-Al-Hasakah international highway, east of Ain Issa in northern Al-Raqqah.

The reinforcement comprised tanks, heavy machineguns, personnel carriers and 4×4 vehicles with a submachine guns installed over them.

In this context, SDF boosted their positions on the opposite side, amid tense calm prevailing in the region, after days of shelling and exchange of fire.
