After the failure of Turkish attempts to close it | Aleppo-Hasaka international road reopened under Russian protection, amid clash between Russians and Ankara-backed factions

Reliable sources have informed the Syrian Observatory that the international road “M4” connecting between Ain Issa and Tel Tamer, was reopened this morning after being closed due to clashes in the area, which took place on Friday morning. The road was reopened to the commercial and civil movement, protected by Russian forces, by conducting a patrol.

According to Syrian Observatory sources, Ankara-backed factions targeted the Russian patrol with machine guns, east of Ain Issa, while the patrol reacted firing at fire sources. Meanwhile, traffic stopped due to the clashes.

On the other hand, the frontlines of Ain Issa have been witnessing a tense calm since yesterday, following the cessation of clashes and the failure of the attack launched by Ankara-backed factions with intensive Turkish firepower support, on frontlines of north-east of Ain Issa in order to cut off the international road with a Russian consent, seeking to achieve economic gains for the Russians regarding the oil.

According to Syrian Observatory sources, the failed attack, which began in the early hours of Friday morning, killed 13 fighters of Ankara-backed factions in landmine explosions and clashes, while three SDF members were killed.

Yesterday, reliable sources informed SOHR that tense calm returned to the eastern and north-eastern frontlines of Ain Issa, as the violent clashes, which erupted between SDF and Turkish-backed factions in the early hours of Saturday morning, have been suspended since noon. It is worth noting that the map of influence witnessed no changes, as Al-Mushayrafah village is still free of any combatants. As for Jahbal village, the factions are present in the village’s western part, while SDF are still stationed in the eastern part.
