Daraa | New assassination on Military Security officer and 4th Division member in western countryside

Daraa governorate – Syrian Observatory for Human Rights:

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights has monitored a new assassination on a Military Security officer and a member of the “4th Division”, after being targeted by unidentified gunmen in the town of Saham al-Golan in western countryside of Daraa..

According to Syrian Observatory sources, the officer in the “Military Security”, who was assassinated with a member of the “4th Division”, was responsible for the file of security studies in western area of Daraa governorate.

This brings the number of attacks and assassination attempts in various forms and methods by detonating IEDs, landmines, booby-trapped vehicles and shootings from last June to date, to more than 812 attacks.

While the number of those who killed and died in the same period has risen to 526 persons, 149 of whom are civilians, including 12 women and 16 children, in addition to 232 regime soldiers, loyalists and collaborators with regime security services.

103 members of opposition factions were also killed, those who made “settlements and reconciliations” with the regime and became members of regime security services, including former leaders, and 23 members of Syrian militias affiliated to Lebanese “Hezbollah” and Iranian forces, in addition to 24 members of so-called “Fifth Corps”.
