After stealing their contents | Ankara-backed factions seize civilian homes in Afrin, turning them into military headquarters

Aleppo Province – The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights:

In light of the ongoing violations by Ankara-backed factions in the city of Afrin and its countryside, north-west of Aleppo, Observatory sources say that a military group seized two houses belong to civilians and turned them into military headquarters in the neighbourhood of Ashrafieh in the city of Afrin. Meanwhile, armed men affiliated with the faction of “Ahrar al-Sharqiya” seized the house of two brothers in the city of Afrin after stealing its contents.

Yesterday, SOHR activists documented the death of a military commander of the Turkish-backed division of “Sultan Murad” after he was shot by a member of the same division. According to SOHR sources the member shot dead the commander after the commander had shot a woman of the member’s relatives while trying to force her out of the house she lived in Al-Ashrafiyah neighbourhood in Afrin city. The member later turned himself in to the police claiming that this murder was an “honor crime”.

On the other hand, SOHR activists have monitored growing security tension in Julqan town in the countryside of Jendires district, following a fight between civilians and members of the Turkish-backed “Al-Hamza Division”, after a member of the faction was about to hit a little girl with his car due to high speed.
