Idlib | Masked gunmen open fire on civilians in motorcycle market

Idlib Province – Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: SOHR activists have documented the injury of a civilian in indiscriminate gunfire by masked gunmen in northern Idlib today. According to SOHR sources, a verbal argument took place between two masked men and young people in a market for used motorcycles near Deir Hassan town, after the gunmen had offered a motorcycle for 100 USD, although it worth more than 300 USD.

 

Several young men surrounded the masked men and accused them of being thieves, where altercation took place before the masked men opened fire on the boys, injuring one, then they escaped. Meanwhile, Hayyaat Tahrir Al-Sham and the security forces in the region are blamed for facilitating such acts and thefts.

 

Reliable sources have informed SOHR that tens of crimes are recorded weekly in HTS-held areas, while motorcycles hijacking are documented almost daily, at a time when security forces are deployed in most outdoors markets and bazaars.
