Anti-corruption campaign | SDF arrest over 100 officials within public and private sectors

SOHR sources have confirmed that SDF security services continue arresting individuals whom “Syrian Democratic Council” (SDC) describes as “spoilers and disrupters”.

According to SOHR sources, the security services have launched several campaigns, arresting several capitalists in areas under the control of Autonomous Administration. The security services have arrested over 100 persons accused of corruption issues, referring those found guilty of corruption, abuse of influence and manipulation of public funds to special courts.

The campaign targeted officials on the Autonomous Administration’s installations and others in the private sector.

In late November, SOHR sources reported that the Autonomous Administration’s security services arrested several people working in the Autonomous Administration’s institutions on various charges, including corruption, embezzlement of funds and dealing with Turkish intelligence, according to local sources.

It is worth noting that two officials of Al-Hasakah City Council, a municipal official in Al-Hasakah and at least ten others officials were among those arrested during the campaign.

The security services also seized the funds and properties of the detainees, pending the completion of investigations and judicial proceedings.

The Autonomous Administration’s security services had arrested several people of the Autonomous Administration two days ago, followed by the arrest of others to resume investigation.
