For third day in a row | Kurdish forces and Turkish-backed factions exchange fire on frontlines of northern Aleppo countryside

Aleppo Province- Syrian Observatory for Human Rights:

SOHR sources say that Turkish bases have shelled, with heavy artillery, the villages of Mar’anaz, Harbal and Sheikh Issa in areas held by Kurdish forces in northern Aleppo countryside, coinciding with sporadic clashes between Turkish-backed factions and Kurdish forces on frontlines of the village of Mar’anaz, but no casualties have been reported so far.

Meanwhile, clashes and exchange of shelling between Kurdish forces and Turkish-backed factions are taking place for the third day in a row on frontlines of northern Aleppo countryside.

Yesterday, the Syrian Observatory monitored Turkish shelling targeting the vicinity of Menagh airport and Tel Rifaat within the areas held by Kurdish forces in northern Aleppo countryside.

On December 25, SOHR activists documented the death of a child after being hit with an indiscriminate shot by heavy machinegun on the outskirts of Azaz city in the northern countryside of Aleppo. This incident coincided with clashes on the frontlines of Mar’naz town in the west of Azaz city between Kurdish forces and Turkish-backed factions.

On the other hand, Turkish forces shelled positions in Mar’naz village with artillery.
