ISIS resurgence in SDF-held areas | Head of village assassinated in northern Deir ez-Zor countryside

Deir ez-Zor province – The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights:

SOHR sources say that unidentified gunmen on a motorcycle shot dead a civilian working as the head of the village of Komin today, in front of his house in the village of Al-Hasin in northern countryside of Deir al-Zour, while the killers fled to an unknown destination.

It is worth nothing that SDF-held areas are witnessing a surge in ISIS cells’ activities targeting SDF members and those working in its civilian institutions.

A few hours ago, SOHR sources confirmed that unknown gunmen on motorcycles opened fire on two military vehicles of Syria Democratic Forces in Al-Hajanah village near Al-Busayrah city in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor. According to SOHR sources, the attack left SDF fighter dead and others injured.

As more fatalities are recorded and updated regularly, the number of people who were killed in areas within the four provinces of Aleppo, Deir Ezzor, Al-Raqqah and Al-Hasakah, in addition to the SDF-held area of Manbij in the north-east of Aleppo rose to 622 fighters, civilians, oil workers, and officials in service parties.

The Syrian Observatory documented the assassination of 219 civilians including 17 children and 11 women by armed cells in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor, al-Hasakah countryside, al-Raqqah city and countryside, and Manbij area. In addition, 399 SDF fighters, including local leaders, were assassinated in the same areas.

Also, four members of International Coalition were killed. The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights Human also documented tens of injuries due to these assassinations.
