Reacting to the death of their son | Family attack positions of “Sultan Murad Division” in Ras Al-Ain (Sere Kaniye)

Al-Hasakah Province – Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: Reliable sources have informed SOHR that clashes erupted between residents and military groups of “Sultan Murad Division” in Luzi village in Ras Al-Ain countryside (Sere Kaniye) in rural Al-Hasakah. This armed fight came two days after members of “Sultan Murad” shot dead a young man for unknown reasons in Luzi village. According to SOHR sources, the victim’s family attacked the positions of “Sultan Murad” after they had made sure that their son was killed by members of the Turkish-backed division.

On December 23, a member of “Al-Mu’tasem Brigade” was killed after being shot by members of “Al-Hamzah Division” during clashes among both Turkish-backed factions in Ras Al-Ain city (Sere Kaniye) in Al-Hasakah countryside. The clashes erupted after “Al-Hamzah Division” had arrested a member of “Al-Mu’tasem Brigade”, while the factions were seen on high alert, as “Al-Hamzah Division” refused to release the member of “Al-Mu’tasem Brigade”.

This development came as a part of ongoing violations in “Peace Spring” areas.

On December 19, SOHR activists monitored clashes with machineguns in Ras Al-Ain city among a group of “Jaysh Al-Izza”, after a dispute over revenue-sharing. A member sustained serious injuries during the clashes and he was taken later to the hospital.
