Hasaka | Several civilians injured in demonstration against Turkish-backed factions’ violations, many people arrested for “collaborating with SDF”, and Sultan Murad withdraws from village after killing civilian

Hasaka Governorate – Syrian Observatory for Human Rights:

SOHR activists say that four residents from Ras al-Ain (Sere Kaniye) sustained various injuries in the areas of “Peace Spring”, after being shot by Turkish-backed police while dispersing a demonstration staged by the residents, in rejection of Turkish-backed factions’ violations, and the theft of power plants and the electricity grid which led to the residents being deprived from electricity.

Meanwhile, the police forces confronted the demonstration and clashed with the residents, before dispersing the demonstration by opening fire directly on the demonstrators.

On the other hand, supporters of Turkish-backed factions staged a demonstration against SDF, demanding electricity, water and services. The demonstrators accused SDF of depriving them from electricity.

According to Syrian Observatory sources, electricity reaches Ras al-Ain and its countryside under an agreement between the regime and the Russians on the one hand, and the Turks on the other, to operate the Aluk water plant in exchange for the provision of electricity to the city of Ras al-Ain

Moreover, SOHR sources say that Turkish-backed factions launched campaign of arrests today in the city of Ras al-Ain, arresting a number of civilians for “collaborating with SDF”. Clashes and shootings took place during the raids with wanted persons, resulting in the injury of at least three people.

Furthermore, members of the Sultan Murad Division left the village of Lodi, protected by the Al-Hasakah Shield faction, after attempts by the angry residents to arrest the member who killed a young man from the village. While the relatives of the young man and members of his clan demanded the extradition of the killer.

Hours ago, reliable sources have informed SOHR that clashes erupted between residents and military groups of “Sultan Murad Division” in Luzi village in Ras Al-Ain countryside (Sere Kaniye) in rural Al-Hasakah. This armed fight came two days after members of “Sultan Murad” shot dead a young man for unknown reasons in Luzi village. According to SOHR sources, the victim’s family attacked the positions of “Sultan Murad” after they had made sure that their son was killed by members of the Turkish-backed division.
