Military escalation | Turkish forces shell four villages and locations in Hasakeh countryside, as clashes erupt on frontlines

Hasaka Governorate – Syrian Observatory for Human Rights:

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights has monitored intensive ground shelling by Turkish forces stationed at bab al-Khair military base on the villages of Dabja, Anabya, Khirbet Dakhil, Nuihat and the outskirts of Abu Racine town in Al-Hasakah countryside, coinciding with sporadic clashes with the Syrian Democratic Forces on frontlines. No casualties have been reported so far.

Yesterday, Syria Democratic Forces carried out a new infiltration operation into two positions of Turkish-backed factions near Tawilah and Um Al-Keif in Tal Tamr countryside in Al-Hasakah. The attack left several members of the Turkish-backed Sultan Murad injured.

On the other hand, fierce clashes erupted between Turkish-backed factions and SDF near Rayhaniyyah village, along with intensive artillery fire by Turkish-backed factions on SDF positions in the area.

On December 9, SOHR sources monitored Turkish rocket attacks on positions of Syria Democratic Forces and regime forces nearby Abu Rasin (Zarkan) in the northern countryside of Al-Hasakah. The Turkish rocket fire caused material damage, but no casualties were reported.
