Military escalation | Rebels shell several regime positions in Idlib and Aleppo countryside, as Russian jets fly over “de-escalation zone”

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights has documented the killing of a regime soldier, after being sniped by opposition factions on frontlines of the village of Al-Mallaja, south of Idlib.

Rebels have also destroyed a machine gun of regime forces with a guided missile on the same frontline.

Meanwhile, “Al-Fath Al-Mubin” factions have targeted with artillery positions and gatherings of regime forces in the village of Al-Umqiyah in Sahl Al-Ghab in north-western Hama countryside.

The “de-escalation zone” has been witnessing sporadic flights of Russian jets for more than 48 hours.      

Syrian Observatory activists have reported rocket fire by regime forces in the early hours of Friday morning, targeting positions in Al-Ziyyarah and Al-Sarmaniyah in Sahl Al-Ghab in north-western countryside of Hama, and Al-Faterah, Kansafrah and Sfuhen in Jabal Al-Zawiyah in southern Idlib.
