Security campaign | Children and elders among nearly 20 civilians arrested by SDF in rural Deir Ezzor for unknown reasons

Deir Ezzor Province – Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: Reliable SOHR sources say that patrols of Syria Democratic Forces launched a security campaign in Abu Al-Naytal village in the northern countryside of Deir Ezzor in the early hours of Friday morning. The security forces stormed large number of houses in the village, arresting 18 civilians, including two children and three old people, and took them to unknown destination for unknown reasons. SDF forces also destroyed doors and furniture of some houses they stormed in the village.

This campaign coincided with another campaign by SDF special forces in Abreha village in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor where they arrested three people for unknown reasons.

Yesterday, SOHR activists said that SDF-backed “Counter-Terrorism Forces” raided the village of Abreha in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor, arresting five people, including a former ISIS member, an arms dealer, as well as a relative of the former Governor (wali) of “Al-Khair State”.

This raid came following reports suggested that Abu al-Montaser, the former governor (wali) of “Al-Khair State”, was killed in unknown circumstances in December 2020 in al-Dashisha area in the southern countryside of Al-Hasakah where he was hiding since the SDF captured Al-Baghouz town.
