Arrested nearly 30 days ago | Family from Afrin still detained in Turkish-backed factions’ prisons for unknown reasons

Aleppo Province – Syrian Observatory for Human Rights:

SOHR sources say that Turkish-backed factions have been detaining a family of four people, including a minor, for about a month.

According to Syrian Observatory sources, the Turkish-backed al-Hamza Division faction arrested the family members from their home in al-Mahmoudiyah neighbourhood in Afrin in early December and handed them over to the “military police”, without knowing the charges against the family members, while uncertainty surrounds their fate.

On December 30, SOHR sources confirmed that gunmen of the Turkish-backed “Al-Jabha Al-Shamiyyah” have arrested three people, including a woman and her little son, in Ma’batli district in rural Afrin in north-western Aleppo, taking them to unknown destination. According to SOHR sources, the woman’s husband was arrested by members of the same faction a few days ago.
