South Syria | Israeli strikes on positions of regime forces and Iranian militias leave casualties

Syrian Observatory activists have reported hearing explosion in the radar system battalion in the west of Al-Dour village in Al-Suwaidaa countryside, where Iranian militias and groups of the Lebanese Hezbollah are located. The explosions were caused by Israeli attack with several strikes which left casualties.

The Israeli rockets also hit military positions nearby the 1st Division in Al-Kiswah area in southern Damascus where Iranian militias and their proxies are located, along with loud explosions caused by intercepting the Israeli missiles by regime Air-Defences in Jabal Al-Mani’ and the 91st Brigade.

Similar explosions have been heard in the western countryside of Al-Suwaidaa, after intercepting several Israeli rockets. However, no further details have been reported yet about the number of casualties and material damage caused by these attacks.

It is worth noting that these attacks come less than 48 hours after a visit by top leaders of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) in the area.

Earlier this morning, reliable sources in eastern Ghouta informed the Syrian Observatory that officers of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) carried out several inspection tours for three days, at the beginning of 2021, in “Marj Al-Sultan” helipad, “Air-Defence” battalion in Al-Aftaris area, and battalion of the military airport constructions in Beit Nayim area in eastern Ghouta. The IRGC officers also military centres and headquarters in Al-Kiswah and the surrounding areas of Jabal Al-Mani’. The reasons behind these inspection tours have not been reported yet.
