“De-escalation zone” | Regime snipers kill jihdist on south Idlib frontline, while regime rocket fire pounds positions in Jabal Al-Zawiyah

Syrian Observatory activists have documented the death of a jihadist of “Ansar Al-Tawheed” faction, after being shot by regime snipers on the frontlines of Al-Faterah in the southern countryside of Idlib. This incident coincided with regime rocket attacks on positions in Kansafrah, Sfuhen and Al-Faterah in jabal Al-Zawiyah in the southern countryside of Idlib.

Observatory activists said earlier this morning that a group of regime forces and loyalists sneaked into positions of “Jaysh Al-Nasr” operating under the banner of the “National Liberation Front” on Al-Ankawi frontlines in Sahl Al-Ghab in north-western Hama. According to SOHR sources, the regime infiltration operation, which took place in the early hours of Monday morning, left 11 fatalities among “Jaysh Al-Nasr”, before the regime group withdrew. The death toll is expected to rise as the attack left other rebels injured, some seriously.
