Security chaos in southern Syria | Residents find the body of ringleader in Al-Sweida city

Al-Sweida Governorate – The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights:

SOHR activists say that residents in Al-Sweida city have found the body of a young man with signs of torture lying near the city’s trade school.

According to Syrian Observatory sources, the young man is from Al-Sweida, and is one of the ringleaders in the area.

Al-Sweida province is experiencing a security chaos and an increase in kidnappings and requests for ransom, in light of the deteriorating security situation in the region, where Al-Sweida has become a safe place for these gangs.

On January 5, SOHR sources said that unidentified gunmen opened fire on a cargo truck on the Sweida-Damascus road near the village of Al-Mattuna. The gunmen tried to hijack the car and kidnap its driver but they failed to do so after a group of people intervened. However, the attackers managed to flee.
