After seizing and stealing its contents | Turkish-backed factions turn shop into gun store in Ras al-Ain

Al-Hasaka Province- Syrian Observatory for Human Rights:

SOHR sources say that Turkish-backed factions had turned a shop into an arms store in the town of Ras al-Ain (Sere Kaniye), after they seized and stole its contents.

Turkish-backed factions share civilians’ property, including houses and shops in the “Peace Spring” areas, while these thefts cause constant infighting between them, with the proliferation of weapons and security chaos.

It is worth noting that the shop was used to sell clothes before the people of the city were displaced, as Turkish forces and proxy factions controlled large areas in the military operation “Peace Spring.”

On the other hand, residents of Ras al-Ain and its countryside in the “Peace Spring” area in Hasakeh countryside are suffering from the increasing violations by Turkish-backed factions, with Turkish forces’ inaction.

On January 9, the people of Al-Dahmaa and Al-Rawiyah villages in Ras Al-Ain have complained of blatant violations by the Turkish-backed faction of “Shuhadaa Badr”, as the faction’s militiamen stole, yesterday, a large number of sheep belonging to a civilian in the region. Besides, several thefts are documented in the region daily, while blame is pointed at “Shuhadaa Badr” faction which controls this region.

Meanwhile, residents have called for staging mass demonstration in the western countryside of Ras Al-Ain, demanding the expulsion of the faction from their areas.

On January 5, SOHR sources reported clashes with medium and light weapons in Ras Al-Ain city in “Peace Spring” areas in Al-Hasakah countryside, between members of “Sultan Murad Division” and others of “Al-Hasakah Shield”. The clashes erupted after members of “Sultan Murad” harassed a girl from the area in the city’s market. No casualties were reported.
