Death toll update | 25 Iranian-backed militiamen killed and wounded in recent airstrikes on positions in Al-Bokamal

Syrian Observatory activists have documented the death of 12 Iranian-backed non-Syrian militiamen in two aerial attacks on their positions in Al-Bokamal desert, near the Syria-Iraq border in eastern Deir Ezzor yesterday, Tuesday.

 

The first attack was in the morning when unidentified fighter jets executed four airstrikes on positions of Iranian-backed militias in Al-Bokamal desert, killing seven militiamen. While the second attack took place in the afternoon when unidentified fighter jets also executed four airstrikes, killing five militiamen. It is worth noting that the two attacks left more than 15 Iranian-backed militiamen injured.

 

Yesterday, SOHR sources said that unidentified jets renewed their airstrikes, in the afternoon, on Iranian militias’ positions in al-Bukamal desert in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor where groups of Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps and pro-Iranian militias of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities are stationed.

 

SOHR activists had reported hearing violent explosions in al-Bukamal area in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor in the morning, caused by at least four airstrikes carried out by fighter jets. The jets targeted headquarters and positions of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps in Al-Bokamal desert. No information were reported about the number of casualties and material damage caused by the recent attack.
