As regime reserves the right to respond to Israeli attacks on Syria, “Ministry of Foreign Affairs” accuses SDF of “practicing terrorism and repression against Syrian people”

At a time when the Syrian regime continues to reserve the right to respond to Israel’s frequent and escalating attacks on Syria which target military positions of Iranian and regime forces, the regime’s “Ministry of Foreign Affairs” issued a statement addressing the Security Council and UN, accusing Syria Democratic Forces (SDF) of “repressing the people of Syria in areas under their control”.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates’ statement reads “Syria confirms that the Israeli aggression on positions in Deir Ezzor province coincides with SDF’s criminal and repressing practices against the Syrian people in Al-Hasakah, Deir Ezzor and Al-Raqqah, backed by the US administration and the so-called ‘International Coalition’, with definite rhythm and harmony to implement schemes of US and its agents, including the occupying power, Israel.”

This statement comes after the recent Israeli strikes, in the early hours of Wednesday morning, on Deir Ezzor city and outskirts, Al-Mayadeen and Al-Bokamal, while killed  57 people, as these strikes targeted positions, weapons warehouses, ammunition and missiles depots affiliated to regime forces, the Lebanese Hezbollah, Iranian forces and their proxy militias, mainly “Fatemiyoun Brigade”.

It is worth noting that this death toll was the largest one ever since Israel started its attacks on Syria. Moreover, the recent Israeli attack on Deir Ezzor was the most intensive one ever on Syria, while there were no reports about intercepting the Israeli missiles by Syrian regime air-defences. It is also worth noting that Deir Ezzor city, which the Israeli airstrikes targeted positions in, is under the control of Russia.
