Deir ez-Zor | Scabies disease infects dozens of regime soldiers in al-Mayadeen desert, and hospitals of Iranian Revolutionary Guard refuse to receive them

Deir ez-Zor governorate – Syrian Observatory for Human Rights:

SOHR sources have reported that dozens of regime soldiers stationed within their posts and military positions in al-Mayadeen desert, east of Deir ez-Zor, were recently infected with scabies disease.

According to Syrian Observatory sources, the IRG’s hospitals in Al-Mayadeen city refused to receive them, as they provide health care only to local militias loyal to the IRG, while regime hospitals and public clinics do not have treatment.

On December 14, 2020, reliable sources informed SOHR that exchange of gunfire took place last night between drunk members of the regime-backed “National Defence Forces” (NDF) and other drunk members of “Al-Abbas Brigade” which is affiliated to the Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC), in Al-Mayadeen city in eastern Deir Ezzor.

According to SOHR sources, the clash started after members of the “National Defence Forces” and “Al-Abbas Brigade” had large doses of alcoholic beverages, as they were attending a wedding party of an NDF member in Al-Mayadeen city. It is worth noting that the gunfire left three members of both sides injured.
